I've never used it before and I'm wondering if I'm supposed to spray both surfaces with the adhesive before sticking them together or just one surface. It doesn't say on the can.
I'm mounting some photos to some mount/matte boards and I got sick of using rubber cement because it takes to long and it's messy, espcially when it comes to the 19X13 prints. A person at my local photographers store said to use spray adhesive instead.
Thanks in advance for the help

I've used it on fabric and sprayed both pieces... not sure if that's correct, but it's what i did.

the best stuff I ever used was made by 3M & called Transfer Tape. It comes in a huge variety of widths

I use it all the time. You don't have to spray both sides but you do have to decide weather you want it to be "workable" or permanent. The best workable adhesive (if you screw it up you can lift it back up and reposition your art) is just called Spray Mount by 3M. It works fine but it could peel over time.
If you need a strong permanent hold use Super 77 by 3M. But be careful, if you screw up your alignment you won't be able to separate the pieces. Hope that helps.

Also, for best results use a roller, not your hands, to press down your art. They look something like this:
